CARE NOTES

• Amber is very soft, store carefully
• To clean, rinse in lukewarm (not hot) water with a little mild dishwashing liquid, the rub on a little vegetable oil
• Real amber will float in salt water, imitation sinks (consider the weight of the setting in this test)
• Can also test by touching with a hot needle in an inconspicuous place, should get white smoke with a burning pine wood odor; a black mark with no smoke means the piece is not amber
• Ether or alcohol will make it lose luster, so keep away from perfumes and hairsprays
