TRADITIONS

• Believed to bring good luck and provide protection against the evil eye
• Said to aid in regeneration of body cells and give extra energy
• It is also believed that gazing at malachite or holding it can relax the nervous system and calm stormy emotions
• Considered a children's talisman, it could be worn to ward off danger and illness or tied to a crib to hold evil spirits at bay and have the child sleep peacefully
• Said to provide a faster, easier birth if tied above a woman in labor
• Was popular with ancient Egyptians, Greeks & Roman for jewelry, amulets and was used as a powder for eye shadow

CARE NOTES

• NEVER expose to any produce containing ammonia as this will irreparably damage the surface finish
• Finish is also sensitive to heat, acids and hot water
• Usually considered too soft for rings, but worn with care, a malachite ring can have many years of beauty
